10th Anniversary -- Monologues

On Friday night I had the privilege of celebrating the 10th anniversary of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues at MSVU.

I was impressed with the acting ability of those involved. Each monologue was funny, touching and voiced the unique fears, pride and beauty of women.

The Mount's English department has performed The Monologues for many years. Ticket sales support W4WAfghan and the Girl's Club in Tanzania. Both organizations provide programs which focus on women’s health, employment and education, as well as other programs that help stop violence against women.

A job well done to the English society and all those involved.

One of the performers (Crystal) was presenting at the English Undergrad Conference last weekend:http://bensprblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/not-one-but-two.html

She helped me out by reading some of the lines in my piece for me. Lovely lady, inspiring writer, and great performer!
